i’m not sure what to do or if i can even file an ethics complaint. they are a very new shift and told me that they openly dislike and show dislike towards one barista and choses to put her on window every single shift. i can tell she is worn out by it and is always disappointed, she’s good at her job and i just don’t get why they don’t like her. idk what to do, i’m extremely conflicted

Speak to your manager is how I would suggest in this situation. If they admitted to doing it to one person they're probably doing it to or will do it to more as a punishment and if thats the case then they can't be a shift.
If they can out aside whatever their personal feelings are and do their job more appropriately after your manager does their job then that would be great. Punishing a worker because you simply do not like them is definitely not allowed.

i left out an important piece, my manager plays favorites and the shift is their absolute favorite. the shift wasn’t ready to be promoted but was promoted anyways and it shows. my manager is a recent outside hire, who has less experience working at starbucks than our newer baristas. she’s a 368 i believe, she gossips about other shifts to everyone else and it feels like high school all over again

Have you tried discussing the situation with your GM? They can talk to the shift for you, or they can back you up if you decide that you wanted to talk to them too.

Depending on what you’d like to see done about it you have a few options. Talk to your shift about it and see if you can resolve it 1:1, easiest step. Talk to your manager about it and see if they will do anything, slightly larger step. Or you can call PRSC and file a complaint about it and ethics and compliance might be brought in as that is against the values of the company. That one would be the most extreme because cases can take a while with how much involvement is brought in on manager and DM level
