It was 7:30am and my SM decided it was a good idea to schedule a 3 person play for 4 hours?? Anyways it was a classic busy ass Sunday morning. I was solo drive and solo bar + prep if I had any downtime. These two old men pull up to the window and are snickering. Already in a pissed off mood because I’m doing 4 jobs at once, they hand me 4 gift cards still in the package. They were sitting in their van *laughing at me*. In absolute hysterics. I have carpal tunnel and it makes it difficult to open small packages because it hurts my hands a lot. At some point the smug asshole tells me “I guess I should have just opened it for you. I didn’t think you’d have so much trouble with a gift card”

I almost threw it at him and told him to gtfo. Somehow, I didn’t, and managed to explain that hey, my hands don’t work very well!!!! So sorry that it’s excruciating for me to sit here and open 4 gift cards because you couldn’t be half-assed to do so. They also had 6 drinks. ‘‘Twas not a fun day at all.

I’m sorry you had to deal with that !! As for your first 2 lines, I’ve often had a theory that SM’s schedule tight on weekends in case the store goes over labour accumulatively throughout the week as a buffer and If the week isn’t that bad then if possible the shift can add labour on the weekend and if it’s a bad over-labour week the SM can message SSV’s and be like “please mind your labour”

Turns out it’s probably just a false conspiracy theory of mine since early mornings and late evenings usually produce lowest COSD/sales at my store (and others that I have worked at) just because from 11-4 on a Sunday is rammed doesn’t help labour too much because the rammed time is big orders but less of them.

Long story short working weekends at my store is suckier than during the week (especially Sunday’s) and there’s nothing to help that fact !
