Pride flag (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by PixelWiccan
So we have a lgbtq+ pride flag in our window at my store and we have two baristas that keep removing it because they think it’s why we don’t get as many tips. But our tips haven’t really changed much and I’m not living on them. Should I keep putting it back?

This is something I would talk to your manager about.

Just know that if you do this, the manager will probably decide to follow policy and remove the flag entirely.

Yeah she’s seen the flag and so has our dm and they don’t have a problem.

Right, but if your SM sees the flag as becoming a point of conflict for baristas, they would likely defer to the Starbucks rule that it’s technically not allowed

Put two flags and you'll get double the tips

Ah, creating peace through violence. The American way✌️

I would just leave it off, that way you avoid conflict and any sort of problems. it's against policy to have it up when it's not pride month. I don't believe anything about their tip dilema though.

if this company is going to pretend to be pro queer then we should be as queer as we want all the time :)

They pretend to support a lot of things, most SM are true supporters though. I wouldn't put my supportive SM in a tough position though, you never know if one of these partners that keeps removing the flag will go to partner resources over this.

If the policy is to remove the flag it should be removed :( it seems to be causing conflict

oh no, queer people exist :(
