So I’m trying to get some clarification on Covid Policy. I got sick with what I thought was a flu this past weekend. My mom and sister were also sick. I started feeling pretty bad at my shift on Sunday morning. I then called out on Monday due to a fever and was told over the phone, that if I suspected Covid I was NOT excused from work unless I had positive Covid results from a healthcare provider test. I was also told as long as I didn’t have a fever I should work.
On Tuesday I no longer had a fever and all healthcare testing sites were full that day. So I worked my Tuesday shift. (While feeling ill) While I was working that shift, my mother and sister got positive results from at home test kits. I tested with an at home kit after my shift and got positive results.
I spent the last 15 hours trying to get a healthcare provider test appointment. Unable to do so, and having been told my at home results don’t matter, I went into my shift this morning. When I got there the keyholder sent me home. I was finally able to get a healthcare provider test (during the time I was originally scheduled) and am now waiting on results.
I guess my question is two fold: Can my SM continue to try to get me to work while I am waiting on my results? Am I going to get in trouble for working the shift I did when I knew I was sick but had no testing and was told I wasn’t excused?

No! You shouldn’t be working at all if it is the flu! Please call the PCC when you are feeling better to clarify what your covid protocols are for your area (In my area home test are now allowed as a valid testing results). Or if you need to know now contact your DM. The partner handbook states
“Partners Not Working While Ill A partner who is experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, sore throat with fever, or a medically diagnosed communicable disease must notify the manager. The manager will determine whether work restrictions apply.”
Also did you use the Covid pre check on the iPad?
We’ve had direct communication on weekly updates (months ago) that you shouldn’t work while sick even if it’s not covid.
I hope you feel better. Call out until you feel unwell. They can not force you to work. Yes they can ask for a doctors note after 3 consecutive days of call out. See a doctor who can confirm that you are sick. It doesn’t have to be covid. Good luck.

At home tests count. You don’t need a test done at a facility. They changed this policy maybe 2 months ago.
You need to be fever free without use of fever reducing meds for 24 hours to be allowed to work so likelihood says you shouldn’t have worked on Tuesday.
Exposure doesn’t matter. So your mom and sister testing positive has no effect.
You can get in trouble for not doing the COVID coach. Depending on your store it’s anything from being talked to up to being separated.

Is the at home test acceptance a company policy? I was told it’s up to the Store Manager if she wants to accept home tests vs healthcare provider tests.

One of the June weekly updates (I believe it was the one on the 13th but not 100% sure) says that at home test kits can be used.😊 You just have to submit a photo of the test results with a sheet of paper that has your name alone with the test date and some other info written on it. :)
Edit: submit photo into "partner check tools"

How did so many people forget that illnesses other than COVID exist??
(Not even going to comment on the excessive amounts of dumbassery going on in this post other than that)

At home tests count. I was out a couple weeks ago with Covid and took an at home test and it was just fine, also got paid for the week I missed which is nice, I’ve noticed a lot of managers want to handle things differently though

Did you fill out the Covid coach?

The day I worked, I did not. Today when I was turned away, I did.
I am a partner of just a few weeks, so I have not been introduced to MANY resources. My SM has been extremely absent since I was hired. All the key holders assume the SM or other key holders have shown me or told me about policies and such. I’m having to sort through four interpretations of things and find the truth from the combination of opinions. Plus I have Brain Mush and can’t seem to think straight so I am confused and frustrated.

Brain mush?

Brain mush instead of my normal brain. I can’t think straight and I have a hard time thinking at all lately.
