How do you store the milk steaming pitchers?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 12nipples
I just transferred to another store, at my old store we always stored the pitchers face up and kept a spoon in one for holding back foam, but at this new store a fellow barista got onto me about that saying that it leaves water to sit, and that the pitchers need to be stored face down. How do you all store yours?

All 6 of the stores I’ve ever worked in always keep them face down. Same reason you were told.

Everything that's empty should be upside down so water drups out. If you have flying bugs it prevents them from landing on/in pitchers etc.

we have one that’s face up and holding the spoon, the rest are face down so the water doesn’t sit

If it's busy, I keep the 2-3 that I'm using facing up but am careful to dump any drips of standing water out between each use. If not, face down to prevent the water from sitting. When they're clean and being stored in the dish area, they should be face down, like all the other types of pitchers.

same here. i just feel like sitting the pitchers face down is gross, lol. i’ll usually rinse them if i notice there’s water in the bottom
