How many hours do I need to work a week to remain eligible for benefits?(self.starbucksbaristas)

Lately my store has been getting hit with covid again, because of this we have been closing early on top of partners who call off for whatever reason and I’m losing hours on my paycheck. I’ve been looking at picking up a second job because I can’t afford really losing hours. I’d like to keep my benefits because as a college student Starbucks has great benefits that a lot of the food industry doesn’t offer. When I was hired on I believe it was 20 hours a week? Correct me if I’m wrong. But I also feel like that has recently changed? I just want to double check so I can plan accordingly.

They actually lowered it! I think its like an average of 17-18 hours a week now. I'd definitely double check with your SM or partner resources though

I actually think they raised it again to the normal 20 hour average per week.

I believe it is still an average of 20 hrs, also if it becomes a problem I would ask to pick up shifts at another store in your district!

It is officially 20hrs per week (520hours every 6 months)
For the past several audits, they have lowered it to 450 hours per 6 months (about 17h/week) but it’s no guarantee that it will stay like that, they don’t really announce the change until about a month before the audit at most
