Coverage vs Non-Coverage (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by mossygreentree13
i feel kinda dumb for asking but i was scheduled a shift that says non coverage and i literally don’t know what it means, it’s on a day that is outside of my availability. What’s the difference between a coverage shift and non coverage????

Non-coverage usually means you’ll be off the floor (training modules meetings etc). However with this being scheduled outside your availability I’d touch base with your SM on it as well:)

my old manager used to say he did that to hide hours but im not sure if that’s the case for other managers 🤷‍♀️

Most likely clean play

usually at my store, if you’re a barista and it’s a non coverage shift then it’s clean play. It could always be meetings or modules or something but i find that management will usually tell you that stuff in advance

It could possibly be for the craft training pods that are supposed to be scheduled between Aug 1-14! If it’s 4 hours and a bunch of other people are scheduled for the same block as well, it’s most likely that!
