Personally, closing the store would be nice but for a lot of partners that means not receiving the hours they should to be benefit eligible or get paid (if not enough sick hours).

Making signs is a great idea! Just sucks that a lot of people don’t read them :/

Best you can do is make a small list for yourself. I’ve been in this situation and it’s definitely not fun being yelled at for shortages or inventory mistakes we don’t control. Repeating myself over and over was the worst.

Idk if this helps but last time we ran out of everything… nobody came in. A lot of customers do check the app and when stuff is marked out like crazy they don’t bother to come in. Hopefully it’s the same for you guys!

And you know whats the worst part about all that? The store score is gonna go down for something out of your control and who will get the blame? Partners for not going above and beyond!

multi-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY but they cant seem to get consistent sources for their products which in return fucks the baristas and themselves over in the end when the profit isnt as high and then they have the dm's and sm's put more pressure on baristas to the point where they either do quit or want to

rn we’re out of vanilla, strawberry açaí, strawberries, strawberry purée, mango dragon fruit pieces, cold brew, malt powder, umm what else. we’re usually out of a few sandwiches at a time so that’s not as interesting. I feel you. shits been hell

we have a small white board, smaller than a regular piece of printer paper, at the drive thru. we always write what we don’t have and it helps us to give suggestions.

When we are severely lacking in product we typically do write on several a-frames and put them out front and around the drive thru. don’t let people discourage you, these situations are NOT your fault. do not let customers talk to you like crap either!!! you are a human, not a slave to this company

When we're out of more than one or two things, we start putting lists on the registers so whomever is taking orders doesn't have to remember every last thing.

When this happened at my last store (former partner) we just had a list taped above the register screen for partners in register while food and bar just focus on their own quantity at their station.

Other than that I Feel you on the yelling part. Ask your shift or SM if you can break out the redemption cards? Those usually soften the blow abit and make them stop yelling.
