Classic syrup (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by secretbox-22
I need to figure this out lol and I’m hearing different things from people I work with. So is classic considered to always have a half pump or full pump? Also, if it’s a half pump—in the iced coffees would you make them full? Furthermore, for brown sugar syrup, do you double them for lattes or keep them at half pumps? Thanks y’all :)

You should have two bottles, one with a full pump and one with a half.

Shaken espresso gets half pumps. Iced coffee gets full pumps.

For brown sugar syrup, you should double the pumps in a latte. For other syrups like vanilla that just have a full pump, halve the number of pumps when adding to a shaken espresso. (This is in a recent update to the beverage resource manual.)

Good to know lol, the half/full dose thing couldn’t be more confusing for new partners and whenever they change standards. Thanks!

also matcha frappuccinos have half pumps of classic in thm

matcha frapps get full pumps (2/3/4); strawberry creme frapps get half pumps (or 1/2/2 full pumps)

Syrups dosages (half vs full & the number) are based on the BEVERAGE, not the syrup bottle. It doesn’t matter what pump is on the drink, what matters is the recipe card - so a shaken espresso always gets half pumps, even if you’re adding toffee nut. An iced coffee always gets full pumps, even if you add brown sugar (so you should double the number if using a half dose pump)

This has been clarified in the beverage resource manual

My SM says it's based on the syrup not the beverage? Was this changed recently or is he misremembering?
dazedandconfusedhere 3 points 11m ago
Your SM is incorrect. This has been the standard, but it wasn’t *clearly* stated, just implied, so it’s been confusing for a while. With the barista craft training, corporate has finally clarified the rule. You can look at the beverage resource manual, and the training materials for the “learning” pod of the craft training for the resources!
