i feel like this is a rite of passage. lemme just sorta. script how this interaction today went.
lady, pretty polite at first: hey, i've been waiting for a while, i had a mobile order
me: oh for sure, what's the name on that?
lady: [says name]
me: alright, i didn't get a sticker for that, did you double check the location? it might've been [super similar sounding location]
lady, getting annoyed: it was definitely this location, look.
me: alright, what was the drink? i'll make it for you right now
lady: look, i'm running late, it was a vanilla sweet cream cold brew. i'll be right back, i need to get something from home but i'll be right back
me: alright!
i figured since she didn't specify the size, i would just ask her when she got back as well as get her a recovery card for the trouble.
about fifteen minutes later she walked in and looked confused on where her drink was. i asked her to remind me of the drink, and her jaw dropped, she looked at me like i was the stupidest person on the planet, and she turned around and stormed off. she then called the store and complained :). my amazing shift told me that she cussed her out over phone, said i handled it well, and gave me my ten. i cried juusssst a little bit haha. i can not imagine a time before that someone looked at me with so much contempt and just like. hatred . like girl all this for a vsc cold brew?? i am 16 and u are a full grown woman lol. act ur age . my shift then put me on dishes and then warming so i wouldn't have to talk to anyone else lol.
i have been rewinding this in my head, so much. i don't think there was much else i could've done, except i do wish i had just defaulted to make her a venti and get her recovery card ready so i could've saved that interaction, but i genuinely did not know that she wouldn't let me help her when she stopped by again.
