Nothing like calling out sick and your manager asking you to come in cause “you’re getting better”. Called out for the 4th day in a row(tomorrow) cause I still have a cold. My manager claims she’s all for the partners well being, but how is trying to get your sick partner to come to work part of their well being? I am not 100% and I am NOT putting my other partners at risk to get sick as well. This same manager came back from having COVID and wore a mask for like a day, then continued to cough on ALLLLLLLL the things with no mask on. That’s probably how I got sick to begin with. Yeah, go fuck yourself. If she calls me tomorrow asking why I called out then I’m sending a long text to the DM. Fuck these bullshit double standards.

The only thing I will say to be careful with:
Since it’s past the third consecutive shift, your manager can say you need to go on a LOA to be missing work (you can find the policy in the partner guide) and it sounds like they’re annoying enough to enforce said policy
With managers like this, I always recommend using one of the food safety issues as your reason for calling out - vomiting, fever with sore throat, etc because they literally have to send you home with one of those

Sorry you're going through that OP =/
Managers don't understand that when Partners tell them that they're sick, not causing a stink about them staying home would be in their best interest because if a sick partner comes to work and gets other people sick then those other people are going to try to call out too one after another or all at once so it's probably best for managers to stop making sick Partners come in and let the one sick partner stay home so that they don't have to come to work and cause other people to call out and get those other people sick and then have them go home and get their loved ones sick. But of course I know by me saying this, it's just falling on deaf ears because managers will never do anything about that because all they care about is in the moment and they don't see how by doing that it would affect everything more negatively

Literally this! It’s so beyond frustrating. Like this particular manager has everyone wanting to leave the store or company altogether. Imagine being a new manager at a different store and your turnover rate is super high. Shit like this does not help her case at all.

Yea that sounds terrible! I hate when i hear about managers not allowing partners to rest up and take care of themselves when theyre sick just because there are no covid symptoms. So that means i shouldnt stay home and take care of myself if i dont have signs of cvoid? Absolutely not. We will not sell our souls to the siren lol

I was told I’d get a “documented coaching” if I didn’t come in while sick because I just had a bad cold with no covid symptoms 🥴

That’s so fucked up! Yesterday, she tried to get me to come in for today only for 4 hours. My shift today was 5.50 hours and I was like yeah no. Hard pass. She’s was like “well you’re getting better right? You can just come in for 4 hours”. I think the fuck not. After having a fever or two, terrible headaches, body aches, the shakes, I think I’ll come back to work when I actually feel closer to 100%🙄

Thats so annoying. Like covid isnt the only reason why people should stay home. Like oh u dont have covid symptoms so u can come in...no thats dumb. I would raise hell if that was ever said to me if i call out
