New barista problems (self.starbucksbaristas)

So, I’ve been a barista for about 8 months now and I’m definitely not the best barista out there, but I feel like other partners talk crap about my work ethic. I’m still relatively new and have lots to learn. It doesn’t help that my shifts always have me on the same position every time I work.
I’ve heard, personally, lots of shifts and older partners complain about how people work and I would just feel horrible if they felt that way about me too.
Is it normal for partners to talk crap about other partners behind their backs often? I feel like at my store everyone does so as a bonding activity.
Also, there are some partners who like to rub it in your face that you messed up or like to announce it to the whole world that you’ve messed up… how do I handle those annoying partners without seeming rude or angry?
I just want to be good at my job and cause no inconveniences to others. Any advice?

Sadly every store i’ve worked at people will gossip, honestly you’re just going to have to ignore it.
Most partners won’t consider you new at 8 months with how often people quit/get hired so you’re going to be seen as a role model to those that are newer. so if you make a lot of mistakes/don’t clean/stock after your self i’ve noticed partners will talk, but if you are doing your best and you’re kind with others i doubt people are talking negatively about you. if you ever do hear anything you can just talk to your sm
i KNEW when people would gossip about me and what i did was power through it and i’ve gotten recognized for my hard work i’ve only worked here for 10 months and i’ve been promoted to ssv. So you really need to focus on your self or maybe even find a better environment

I completely understand where your coming from, but at 8 months, I would not consider you a new barista. This much time in, you should know recipes, sequencing, etc.
You should take charge of your own development and if a SSV puts you to a constant position, say hey, can I work on this for my development today?

that is my exact problem i’m also at 8 months and idk what’s the problem here. i wish they would just tell us when we’re doing something wrong but they go around and tell everyone except them. i hope things get easier for you 🥺 you sound like somebody i’d love to work with tbh all that matters is that you care
