My SM won't let me Transfer (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey guys! So I'm a shift supervisor of about 2 years. I have been in a lot of stores in the time I've been a partner. I have just recently transferred to this store 3-4 months ago. This store has a lot of issues and it is high volume. Not the best management and I constantly have stressed episodes. My district manager is also no help. My shift supervisor team supports me in the transfer and are also stressed. My SM told me I can't transfer. Any suggestions? I don't want to quit because I have lots of bills and lots going on at home as well. Any suggestions? Are SMs allowed to force you to stay at a store

I think right now because of training stuff transferring is freezed. After the 18th try to talk to your manager again.

I’m also transferring and was told you can’t transfer more than once in a six month period.

Not a partner atm- If it comes down to it (not sure the state of things based on what everyone else is saying, so maybe wait a bit) you can usually try bypassing your SM and talking with your DM. It probably won't earn you kudos points with everyone- but if your next step would be quitting, they're more incentivized to keep an experienced partner than let an SM tell them they can't transfer.

That's true but also the district manager isn't the greatest so I'm sure he would be okay if I quit

Honestly, the environment of the store has been bad. The customers have been racist and scamming and I have tried hard to fight the cases even when the SM and DM will not. I just feel like I don't feel comfortable at the store
