Today while opening I found a fridge full of milk that expired 7/21. Looks like they’re getting a fifo lesson before I leave

I thought 3 days expired was a lot, 20 days yikes

The sm was like yea we don’t use that fridge

if i hadn’t worked in food before working at sbux, i wouldn’t have any clue about fifo. they seriously need better training.

training's changed a lot since I worked at the bux. FIFO was one of the first things we learned.

I mean, I can see how some folks would be lazy and not pull those gallons out and put the new ones in the back.

I once threw out 28 gallons of 2%, 10 Whole and 12 nonfat. FIFO became my favorite thing to do after that point. Because no matter how many lessons I gave, they wouldn't do it.

Whenever this happens the lyrics "I'm flying solo, solo" pop into my head

Question that may be dumb — if I rotate my milk fridge so it’s fifo, and the delivery driver disregards, just pushes the marked milks to the back still. Are they also required to follow the fifo standard?

Sadly the delivery people are not required to fifo they just have to put frozen items in freezer and cold items in fridges.
