I applied for a shift position today (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by w0lvesteeth
Helloooo! To reiterate, I did just apply for an AM shift position at my store and I guess I am just looking for good luck and maybe some tips that could help out with my interview. I have a pretty good idea of what i’ll be asked and what is expected of me as an opening ssv but maybe there is something out there that could help me during the interview and (if/when I get the job) on the floor as a shift! Anything would help, as I have been working really hard towards this position and I want to be the best I can be!
thank you for reading !! <3

Good luck! I recently just applied for my store too! I just had my interview yesterday! A lot of the questions my manager asked was about how I have handled certain situation like

“Say a time you’ve had a good customer connection”

“Name a time you’ve dealt with a difficult situation and how’d you handle it?”

“A time you received helped yourself”

Okay, I have the situations in my head for all those questions which makes me feel so much better. Thank you for that and good luck to you too! I hope you get it!!

Of course! I’m sure you’ll do great! I luckily accidentally got out of a couple questions by accidentally demonstrating it to him. A regular walked by and I waved and greeted him as I always do and talked for a few minutes to him during the interview right as my manager was about to ask me to tell him of a good costumer connection, so I highly suggest if you find a moment to do something like that because when I looked over at my manager he looked so happy and said “well, now I don’t have to ask that question because you showed me a great one.”

ASM here. They’re going to look to see if you can speak to what’s been said before. But I’d focus on heavily on moments you’ve coached a partner. And when you’ve been coached stories. Why you coached. What you did. And biggest thing how did you follow up? That’s the thing that gets management all excited. Counting money is simple. It’s coaching and flexing plays and not being uncomfortable having coaching conversations that makes a good shift supervisor. They’ll want to see step in that direction now as a barista bc that’s a hard thing to teach. You’ll get better buy in from your team if you’re already holding them and yourself accountable.
