I just gotta say I appreciate this so much, especially the stopped asking about food part! A lot of times I’ll be on drive thru bar and someone will walk up to me asking for their food, and I’ll say “I’m sorry, I’m not on food right now, they have drive thru food and cafe and are a little backed up with only two ovens.” As well sometimes you have to solo front and food, so take orders, get food for cafe and drive thru! They get so huffy and annoyed as we’re all just trying our best!

People are assholes no matter where you work! I just had zero idea how bad people generally were at your job. I’m embarrassed 😞

You're not the problem. The company and the customers don't treat the employees like people. They have dehumanized labor.

This is where a pro union message goes.

yeah just be aware though that this subreddit is basically for employees to vent about their frustrations. so you are going to see it heavily skewed towards complaints.

/r/starbucks is for general discussion and customers.

Yea I pretty much got that - just wanted to spread some love for the employees

Why thank you! I bet you’d be one of my favorite customers I’d look forward to seeing :)

Thank you for this! The entitlement of some people is really disgusting but then you have your regulars or people like yourself that make it a little bit better. I have to come to terms that I don’t get paid enough to take peoples shit anymore. You give me an attitude I will give it right back at you. But thank you for your kindness 💕

why.. did you join the barista subreddit? instead of r/starbucks?

It was an accident, I didn’t know there were separate subs

Right?!?! I’m a customer and the people at my Starbucks literally help me function for the day. Not necessarily because of the caffeine from my tea/coffee but also because they’re just really good people. I do mobile order and I walk in instead of drive thru just because the positive human interaction make me a little less depressed.

I personally think that both sbux subs tend to skew super negative. It’s not a totally unbiased picture of work life at Starbucks. I know a lot of people that love it and have great customers etc.
