Same here. Hello fellow Sacramento barista!

My SM only have us estimates, and their estimate given to me was higher than what I was expecting, based on the articles released from Starbucks. I understand that SM should know for a fact what your new rate is supposed to be, instead of giving estimates.

For reference I’m a five year partner (2016) shift supervisor. Right this moment I’m ~$16.70. I thought based on what Starbucks had released, that I would get a 7% increase based on the starting pay of $15/hr = $1.05 to be my raise, putting me at $17.75, however, the estimate that my SM gave me was $20. I am on the edge of my seat because the insecurity of not knowing is weighing on me, especially when They gave me a much higher number than what I was originally expecting.

On the other hand, my buddy from another store I believe told me that their new rate is ~$20/hr, so it would be on par to be on par with another partner SS (from another store) with ~the same length of employment as myself.

SSV pay is 27% higher than base barista pay, so given that the new minimum base barista pay is $15/hr the lowest SSV pay would be $19.05/hr
SeasonedBarista [OP] 4 points 11m ago
Sweet. Hopefully the 7% will be based on the new SS rate, if it’s $19, then that’s an additional $1, putting me at $20. I can’t wait to see it and find out! Not truly knowing feels so dreadful 😩
BlackberryOpposite31 2 points 11m ago
The new rates went into effect on august 1st so you should be able to see your new pay.
SeasonedBarista [OP] 5 points 11m ago
Yes, I shall be able to see it tomorrow when my paystub is released 😣
One-More-Page 1 points 11m ago
Your SM doesn’t know how to use the pay calculator!!! Maybe the base hourly pay in your area is going up.
I hope it’s a good one for you.
Bluesy_Cactus 1 points 11m ago
The current pay scale is a little confusing. Since you’re a 5 year partner your 7% raise is over the barista rate. It should bring you to $16.05, and then after you get that rate, you get the shift supervisor raise which is 27%. That should bring you in total to $20.38.

I am a 2 year partner shift supervisor so I only get the 5% raise and I currently get $20 flat.

Currently at 19.05 as a 9 month SSV, 11 month rehire-barista.
Tinacutieee99 1 points 9m ago
Hi I’m actually reapplying to the siren I used to get $15.00 an hour but now that I’m reapplying I feel like I should ask for more then $15.00. I have 1 year experience.
Affectionate_Fart 1 points 9m ago
Does not matter sadly. You’ll get 15/hr. But if you apply now, you might be able to get the yearly raise. Not sure.

Oh thats so weird!!! Since it seems relevant, mine has a tab titled “CA Notice of Pay Rate”. Dont know much about state laws regarding pay rate disclosure, but it seems like California is a little different???
Sorry!! Thought I could help 🙃
nicolelynnejones 3 points 11m ago
Yeah probably just different regulations 🥴 Thank you tho!

3 year barista, 17.37 in Spokane, WA
IzzyIllustrations 1 points 11m ago
Barista, bumped from 14.50 to 15 but only because it's the minimum starbucks is paying now. I've been here for well over a year and a half and it's pretty frustrating to be making the same amount as a green bean. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy the starting pay is better now, I just wish my raise was equivalent to my experience.
