Does the headset make anyone feel like they are going crazy and very nauseous like I feel like I am gonna get sick from the feedback from it and the echoing of the person on drive thru talking??(self.starbucksbaristas)

YES. I have chronic migraines. The headsets are instant migraines for me. It’s gotten so bad before that I’ve had to step off the floor because I get nauseous, spotty vision, and super light headed. I always feel guilty because I’ll be in drive thru for 15 minutes and then I feel like shit. I hate asking to move because everyone at my store dislikes drive thru but it’s that or I throw up/pass out :// I try to hold off as long as I can. Doesn’t help that after having a migraine it takes my body anywhere from 1-3 days to not feel absolutely drained and sluggish anymore.

Okay at least it not just me like I hold my manger I can’t do headset because it may be have such a bad headache and nauseous where I’m gagging but like don’t throw up but you know the feeling like your gonna throw up and like it bad I never really had to wear it but today he told me I needed to when covering warming which I never had to before now I’m on mobile bar so I don’t have to but like

Yeah, unfortunately warming & drive bar also have to wear headsets. My store will also have CS wear one if we’re severely short staffed and they’re doing cold brew/dishes in the back. But that’s the ONLY time, otherwise they don’t.
You could just do what I do and turn the volume wayyy down 😂 we also have a headset that will randomly turn off. I’ll find it and “accidentally” use that one 🤭. I tune out the headset even when the volume is up, so I hear it but I don’t actually *hear* it.

I definitely turn it all the way down and put it behind my ear when there was no car in drive thru so I could get a break from all the noise and everything like I am already hearing everything going on outside the head set that it get too much

Yes !! I have bad anxiety and there are times it gets so bad when three are people talking on the headset, while taking orders , or someone trying to talk ti me on headset and in person. There’s times I get so overstimulated I have literally got so dizzy that I had to go to the back to sit frown cause it’s was just too overwhelming. I find myself turning it down all the way or taking it off of my ear any chance I get.
