When I started last year, entry barista pay for my region was $11.66. I was then bumped to being a shift and my pay went to roughly $18.64. After a raise last year, I went to $19.05. I eventually resigned from my position and was given and adjusted pay rate of $16.08. The starting barista pay was then $12 something, so I had $3-4 pay differential. After the newest pay increase (Aug. 1), my pay is now $16.56.
I just transferred to a new region, and I’m unsure of who I’m supposed to talk to to keep my pay. I was told by my new manager I’d have to speak to my old DM, but that doesn’t make sense to me and my old SM said it’s a new DM problem. That makes more sense, but the new SM is adamant on it being my old district’s issue.
On another note, am I an asshole for being a little peeved that my pay differential went from being roughly $4 to being $1.56 more? I could just be over reacting a bit but I’m unsure if it’s even worth bringing up.
