no drink policy at licensed stores (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mother-Independent78
So i work at a licensed store and for the last year or so we have been making our own drinks and taking out dated pastries. recently another licensed store near us fired two leads that had been working there for over 13 years because they were making their own drinks without paying. Is this a rule at other licensed stores? do corporate stores have this rule aswell? help 😭

Licensed stores follow their own rules so what corporate stores do doesn’t matter. You have to follow whatever rule they set. Generally speaking, licensed stores do not get free drinks like corporate stores do.

Corporate stores are required to mark out the drinks and food (7 a week).
I use to work at a Target Starbucks, we were not allowed free drinks. Was told it was unfair to other employees working there.

so corporate workers are allowed seven drinks/food items a week?

7 food. Drinks are free on days you work. You can get one 30 minutes before and one 30 minutes after your shift and one on your break.

But licensed store employees have to go by the rules whoever pays them lays down.

I'm the new team lead at a licensed store. Entire previous team was fired for theft. Knowingly not paying for drinks, and taking shrink products home with them. They were also encouraging new employees to do the same, even though they knew through training it was against the rules.

We now have a keurig and supplied pods of various brands, blends and flavors to prevent future theft.

We do allow all of our staff to take advantage of the free refills of iced coffee, iced tea, steeped tea and drip coffee even if they have left the premises for their break during their work day.

i previously worked at a licensed store and things were like that at mine as well. licensed stores all have their own rules, but for corporate stores you get unlimited drinks during your shift and you definitely wouldn't get fired for making your own
