Hey so just genuine curiosity and I wouldn’t serve it to a customer. If I wanted to put almond milk in a whip canister, would that even work? Or would I need to add a bunch of shit to make it thick?

Need like a gum, like xantham gum…… maybe creme base? As that’s main functioning component is xantham gum but it might still be too diluted

That’s what I was thinking, truthfully I think I’m just getting bored at my store right now because we’re closing early and we have so much extra coverage I kind of just have the ability to do some weird shit every now and then and I’ve really been wanting to do a dairy free whip
meegy1235 points11m ago
You could try it and let us know how it turns out

We’ve done oat whip at my store! almond may be a bit too watery but we’ve never tried. The trick is to double charge it, and make sure the canister and non dairy milk are both chilled first (as is standard, lol) It still comes out a bit like cool whip but it passes the Dairy Queen test, ie. you can flip a cup of it upside down without any spillage.

Doing this tonight will update you all haha

Ooooooh I'm gonna do this!!!!

i think oat milk would be the best for a vegan whip because it has more fat than almond milk, i’ve heard of oat milk whip before but never tried it out myself

I’ve always wanted to make flavoured whips! chocolate, strawberry, dark caramel

My favorite that we made is cold brew whip - it’s beyond amazing

chai whipped cream on a psl sounds 👌

So I’ve actually used my protein powder to flavor a whip once (for the gainz) and it turned out really well!

I haven’t looked at our coconut milk and oat milk side-by-side, but typically coconut milk has more fat in it. I think the coconut milk would be even closer to the texture of the regular whipped cream! Someone please try this. My store is way too busy for us to give it a try.
bre_kiser [OP]2 points11m ago
Will try tomorrow and update!
hugallcats1 points10m ago
We’re you able to try the coconut milk whipped cream? I’m very interested in the results.
bre_kiser [OP]1 points10m ago
I haven’t been able to! My store has been so short lately and apparently tourists decided to come through at the end of august lmao. As soon as I’m able to I will update!
hugallcats2 points10m ago
I feel being short staffed in my soul. I hope the tourists aren’t ordering everything with vsccf, at least, and that things slow back down for you! Down time is the best.

Omg I want to do this too!! I've had oat whip cream and soy whip that I purchased at the store so I have really wanted to try it with oat at work. But also don't want to waste a bunch of oatmilk since we run out so fast lol
