Starbucks is so ass backwards they deploy software changes on a Friday. They’re probably not really stress testing before deployment, on unrealistic timelines.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the software managers are based in the US/EU and the dev teams are overseas where devs are cheaper, eg, Eastern Europe, Vietnam, Philippines , etc.
So now the dev teams are scrambling to patch fixes or rollback changed on a Saturday morning US time, Saturday night developers’ time.
I guess it’s somewhat comforting to know the bux is run all sorts of fucked up beyond the store.
