I have tried to ask at the speaker, but if you can't put it into the register you'll forget, I'll forget, I'll drive off and want water instead of my coffee because I'm thirsty and then I'll be sad. But not mad at you, because I am not a monster and I forgot too.

The whole point of asking at ordering stations is so that we get a sticker for it. It’s been that way for years so maybe your SB just has people who accidentally forget to punch in water - but not only is it a problem for the barista and the drive times to make random waters after ordering it also does not count towards our supply inventory or factor in labor, every drink counts with inventory and staff shortages - all waters should be punched in.

But it never fails that about 75% of the time it’s added to orders at the DT window or they’re asking the person barring interrupting the sequence of drinks.

Honestly I was judging based off of the fact that our kiosk (I work at a SB in a grocery store) just got mobile ordering and we do not have this button on our registers. I wish we did. When I used to go through the SB drive through near us I'd ask for water and they'd ask us to remind them at the window because there wasn't a button. There isn't one now at our kiosk. So I assumed that was the same everywhere. I don't go through the drive through anymore because why would I? If I'm getting SB it'll probably be at our store when I am leaving, but usually not.
