Do you guys give out pup cups to people without dogs (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Braden1215
Sometimes people come in and ask for a pup cup(either with a spoon or with drizzle) and I know it’s not for a dog… what am I supposed to do?

Pup cup yes, drizzle no.

That’s kinda what I’ve been doing, except I will do the drizzle but they get charged for it

I give them a pup cup but I don’t do drizzle. If they want drizzle then they will have to pay for a custom tea latte add drizzle or to get around that I would add “drizzle on pup cup” to another drink if there is drink but either they have to pay. Pup cups aren’t restricted to just dogs.

I don’t care honestly. I don’t ask and I don’t worry about it. It’s a little 4 oz bit of whip cream which is already free. Some people get them for their kids. I’ve also had customers who were bringing it home to their dogs. Now whether they really were or not I’m not sure. The drizzle however might be a little bit of an issue because we do charge for that, so that part I’m not sure of. Some people might have you add the charge, others probably won’t care. For just a regular pup cup though as long as there’s enough whip to hold us over until we can make some more I really don’t see the big deal.

Yes I used to take one home for my cat. Although once two people ordered them at DT and I saw the girl just dig in and she looked embarrassed that i saw so her husband took a big bite of his and said “yolo!” 😆. Pup cups are free but I think drizzle is a charge so I’d add it to something (no one ever asked).

my store doesnt care we give it to you & to be quite honestly i dont care either if its for a human or a dog its a little dollop of whip w some toppings😭😭

I wouldn’t care, accept the drizzle yes. I’d charge. Because more money, means more hours. It does add up, and hours have been cut. I lady came through once only wanting hot water, cream, and honey. When I charged her .70 the complained. Said she’s never been charged at the store she normally goes to, and she goes every day. TBH I was annoyed by that, drive through, and she did not tip either. Every day, I’d be annoyed. She had a really nice car, someone,
Maybe I’m being to judgemental

Im in a cafe/mobile store so i dont work at a drive thru to see dogs come thru. But people will come in to order or to pick up a mobile order and theyll ask for a pup cup to take to their dog at the car or at home. They never ask for toppings to go on it like caramel drizzle or cinnamon or anything like that. They just ask for a plain ol pup cup at my store. Whether its for a human or a dog, i really dont mind. But when its super slammed with drinks on bar, i will stop to get it in between handing out drinks or if theres an extra person on bar or register, ill have them grab it real quick.

No issue except never drizzle....not on a pup cup. It is only ever just whip.
