service dogs. Specifically people faking their pets as service dogs. As somebody friends with multiple service dog teams it’s so frustrating watching people walk in with their misbehaving dogs, jumping on people, barking and whining, jumping on counters. I caught a lady once just letting her dog lick our tables (asked her to leave Ofc) it just takes a certain kind of entitlement to take advantage of a system put in place for disabled people, especially since their pets could distract actual service dogs doing things like seizure or diabetic alert
I would ask people the legal questions (is that a service dog, what tasks does it perform) and ask disruptive ones to leave if I wasn’t the minority at my store that actually cares
Whatever, rant over

THANK YOU. There are so many people who think it’s fine to bring in their dogs that are very obviously not service animals. It’s infuriating bc no one at my store says anything about not bringing your pets inside, sometimes my coworkers will compliment them (which I understand because dogs are cute) but it makes the customers think it’s okay when only service animals should be inside. :(

i haven’t seen this at my store, but i noticed it at the airport a LOT. the thing is, since it’s against the law for people to be forced to disclose their disability, people think it’s ok to put a vest on their animals and parade them around. i was traveling home recently and i saw a man with a “service dog” that was so misbehaved i was surprised that he hadn’t been called out yet. walking up to people, begging for food, and he let people pet the dog, red flag #13527. it takes a certain kind of entitlement to do that just so you can take your dog with you to starbucks.
