Are managers allowed to schedule partners to work at different stores without asking the partners first? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Scared-Ad-7678
We recently got a new manager at my store. She’s mostly friendly, she’s gotten us a lot of new equipment, she likes things very structured and I can appreciate that. However her schedules. They are the worst. I’m frequently scheduled to close one night an open the next day, she often changes partners schedules hours before hand and doesn’t let them know and now I’ve noticed she has a new partner (like she’s only had one shift out of training) scheduled to work four days at a much higher volume store, along with many other partners. She never asked us. Even if she’s allowed to do that I still feel it is unfair especially considering our own store is already very understaffed and under scheduled. Love y’all 💗

Sadly yes they are allowed to, but it’s really not a great idea

Unfortunately yes. I would never personally do it because I’m not putting somebody in a bad situation. Especially since a lot of my partners walk or take a bus and it’s a piece of shit move.

As far for clopens, change your availability. When I was a barista/SSV I struggle with this and I eventually changed my availability from 5 AM-7PM to have some time between shifts.

Partners work for Starbucks and not for any particular store. If one have to travel distance that is further compare to home store, difference in mileage must be compensated. Sadly one can be scheduled to work at other locations without prior agreement with partner

I would love to except every time she is scheduled to work here, she’s at a different store. Or when Im meant to work with her in person she’ll show up late when I leave! And I’d rather discuss it with her in person since that’s what she told me to do when I brought it up through text

Yes. You're also allowed to talk to your manager about your concerns.

Was the partner trained for your store or theirs? We will train partners for other stores on occasion.
