just a theory. I put the orders away at my store and as a result I end up seeing most of not all the product that comes in our store. earlier this summer May-July I noticed we were receiving expired espresso (the big bags for bar).
I brought it up to my SM who showed me an email from corporate stating that from now on (only) the espresso would show as: d/m/y instead of the usual m/d/y. SM told me this was for espresso only. I thought that was strange but whatever it is not my company.
about the second or third week in July the dates switched back to normal. also strange, but again not my company. I believe things have gotten so bad at the distribution centers (probably do to the way they treat the “partners”) that all/most of the product is so disorganized that it has become unmanageable.
I also will receive shipments during the week that have expiration dates that are months apart. usually this has not been the case. when I am able to put stock away and not have to fifo, I believe there is a problem. we also have had multiple case of cold grande cups arrive sealed, but upon opening them I noticed they were an entire row short of cups.

the espresso date “changed” because corporate sent a communication saying we were going to receive product meant for Europe as they had too much. In the US we do d/m/y and in Europe they do m/d/y
madydt2 points11m ago
uhhhh U.S. does m/d/y and Europe does d/m/y but yes your point is valid

The date change could have been that it was someone’s first day and they switched those labels and nobody noticed for a while lol

I’m dying to get some of these hot pink pops
edit: I found some in the freezer today. manifestation is real 🤪

my stores theory about the cake pops is that it might be from a different manufacturer. they couldn’t keep up demand and had to get another manufacturer to jump on board. multiple high volume manufacturers = inconsistencies

our food has also been arriving looking like that. perhaps it is from the product sitting out to long in the warehouse and then being refrozen?
