If you’re not going to let us mark out specific items, maybe ensure WE DONT RUN OUT OF THEM!!!! (self.starbucksbaristas)

Haven’t received a shipment in two days at my store, we’re out of all types of vanilla syrup and classic, no Grande/venti cold cups, and we can’t mark any of it out because it would make the order process “frustrating” for the customers. More frustrating for them than coming in to find their mobile order ticket marked with “SEE BARISTA”?!!!?!! Agghhhh

Give the customer’s your DM’s email so they can vent their frustrations with this to your DM. Everyone at Sbux who is above SM-level doesn’t know and/or care about what it’s like to work at Sbux or be a customer. They only care about the optics, and nothing else. Give them a reason to care—have customers inundate their emails with complaints over this.

This is it!!
When we couldn't get hand soap shipped and the bathrooms were without "sbux soap" a customer complained. Gave her the dm card and we had soap within 2 hours. All our complaints were on deaf ears.

No, we weren't allowed to go buy soap elsewhere, had to be sbux soap.

We directed people towards corporate contact info but I think people, at least in my area, would rather vent frustration at the barista standing in front of them than compose an email.

There’s absolutely a disconnect between upper management and front line workers. Decisions are made that have no basis in the actual reality of working in Starbucks. It just feels like pointless changes are being made for sake of saying changes were made. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Who tf is running Sbux? Are they so far removed from placing an order that common sense has failed them? Wishing and hoping for some competition for Sbux.

Orders were placed from our store, but D-FW area has notoriously bad logistics for shipments. Early this year we went 5 days without shipments. Starbucks needs to not be going with the lowest bidder and find a new company to handle their business rather than just letting stuff like this happen.

Oh no, not blaming the stores. Pointing a finger at corporate disallowing marking out items the store is out of. MOPs are huge volume. Why allow somebody to place an order for an out of stock item when you have the ability to let them know when they are placing their order. Instead, let them order it and upon arrival for pick up let the chaos ensue. It would make too much sense to use the available technology. Starbucks corporate seems very fkd up and too far removed from the customer/barista experience.

The “logic” is that vanilla syrup is in whipped cream and vanilla sweet cream but customers don’t necessarily know that so they wouldn’t understand why they can’t get those ingredients. In reality I think it’s because those two things are components of big sellers (whip is on nearly every frap and cold foam is a big seller). In my barista experience when people show up and their drink couldn’t get made bc of an outage, most people will still have us make something else so they get something for the trouble of showing up to the store, instead of getting a refund and walking out with nothing. So Starbies keeps most of their money. Some stores use classic syrup in a pinch when they run out of vanilla for whips and sweet cream, but when you’re out of classic, not much you can do since you need something fairly neutral and inoffensive. And then classic syrup is in the iced coffee and starbies simply doesn’t tell customers that, so marking out classic would open a whole can of worms. That also frustrates me—hidden sugar that people should be able to opt into or out of.

Anyway it probably sounds like conspiracy talk but that’s my theory on the real reason we can’t mark out vanilla lol.

It’s ridiculous honestly. In some cases even if you mark out items customers can still mobile order it if it is in their favorites section on the app. So much oversight within the app.

At this point we need to take peach juice off the menu. I don’t understand why we never have it anymore but I’m so tired of it. And we also haven’t had strawberry purée in a month.
Guess they’re hoping to distract everyone with pumpkin spice in 2 weeks😭
