What’s the policy for a returning partner applying to be a shift? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rocksrock43
So I started at my store in March 2021 and in January 2022 because a SSV. In May, I left to do a research fellowship in another state and had to completely “quit” even though I planned to come back. Now I’m back at my store. Because I was gone, they had to hire another shift to replace me and I’m returning as a barista. Another SSV is leaving in a few weeks to move to another state. I’m not sure if I’m eligible to apply for it again because I’m a “new hire” in the system, or if I can because I’ve already worked at Starbucks for over 6 months. I figure if outside hires exist is should be allowed, but my ASM and temporary SM don’t know the answer.

I think it depends on the store.
I was a barista in 2016, left in 2017 and was rehired last September.
I applied as a shift in Jan and was promoted.
