Hey , our store has a group chat for between the shift manager and the store manager. I can say that this group chat has become less helpful than helpful and frankly I don’t want to be in it. I don’t even want to see it outside of work. Can I leave it?

They can’t force you to stay in it. Nothing in company policy that’s mandating it so of course you can leave. I do suggest talking to your manager about your reasoning though, if you have that type of relationship where they can listen to your concerns. That way maybe you can all work together to make it helpful? Worst case I highly recommend muting notifications for it if they get annoying about you trying to leave it

I already muted it, but at this point I just want to leave it because it not even being used for what it was intended for at this point now it’s just people pointing out about this or that being wrong.

Iirc it is. That doesn't stop stores from having it. Basically you're not really under corporate obligation to stay.

Just ask your DM. They will tell you that they cannot require you to be in a work group chat cause otherwise they have to pay you for your time
