Turkey pestos smell terrible! It actually smells like vomit to me 🤢

I think our Caramel tastes vile and smells like straight chemicals. Also I tried so hard to like Chai but I just can’t 😭

Starbucks food is so boring and gross. Only things I like are the cheese danish and almond croissant (RIP).

Matcha is inedible, the sbux chai is repulsive, and sbux syrups are low quality and taste bad. They make torani’s look fancy. Aside from the refreshers, there’s not really anything uniquely Starbucks that isn’t…fucking pike lol

Food: All of the breakfast sandwiches taste like nothing to me. I can’t recommend them to anyone because they are so bland. They’re worse,
overpriced Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sandwiches but we have minimal condiments to make them better.

Drinks: Many of the syrups and sauces are bad. The caramel syrup is one of the worst syrups I have ever had. Dark caramel is way better. Hazelnut overpowers everything. The mocha is undrinkable; it’s chalky, bitter, and disappoints me every time. Pumpkin sauce is only good in cold foam. Frappuccinos are not good unless made with heavy cream and even then, they’re still pathetic versions of their milkshake brethren because the texture is never right.

Cake pops. Back in my day, they were amazing, and 1 cake pop was $1. 2 cake pops were also $1. Now when ever no other customers are in the lobby, and there's a chill customer I just say "Honestly, the cake pops are overpriced and mid".

Chocolate cold foam is fucking disgusting and smells like if you ate chocolate and threw it up

Matcha frapps make me mad because they look like Shamrock shakes but instead of being delicious, they taste like grass. I’m a super picky eater, so pretty much all my takes about our food/drinks are controversial though lol.

- Most of the dark roasts and signature espresso smell like moth balls or like cigarette butts. Cold brew concentrate and frap roast smell like soy sauce.

- white mocha is disgusting. I don’t understand how people put it in their bodies it’s so fucking vile. Why on gods green earth is it the most popular syrup/sauce?? I don’t eat dairy anymore but when I did I sampled a white mocha and some of the sauce by itself and I legit gagged. Granted I’m not the biggest white chocolate fan but this was 1000x worse than anything I’d had before that was white chocolate flavored. It just tastes like sugar and has this awful chemical aftertaste.

- cake pops are fking stupid. The texture is awful and they taste… sad. I don’t understand why the hell people spend 3 dollars on those dinky little shits they fill me with so much rage. Just eat a normal slice of cake that doesn’t come pre-chewed and compressed into a sphere, the texture will be better and it’ll probably taste a lot better too.

Tldr; Starbucks food is gross. Starbucks drinks are gross. Quality control does not exist. I don’t understand how people readily consume Starbucks food/drinks every single day. The only time I did that was when I worked there and got that shit for free while on the clock (I was/am poor so it wasn’t like I was gonna turn down free food either). It’s also overpriced as hell but we all know that, it’s just especially annoying considering what you’re getting.

- white mocha, vanilla, caramel (both syrup and drizzy) is disgusting

- our matcha is gross. it tasted like blended grass. [not saying this about all matcha. just ours, as it’s the only kind i’ve tried]

- the double smoked bacon really doesn’t live up to the hype. it’s good, but not on my top 3 at all.

- reduced fat turkey bacon is easily our best breakfast sandwich. turkey pesto is the best panini.

- vanilla sweet cream foam is disgusting. the flavored foams (salted carm, malt, pumpkin, irish cream etc) are pretty good tho.

- the chai with pumpkin foam is also gross

- our brewed hot/iced coffee is pathetic. i love plain coffee, but ours is so undrinkable it’s kind of sad

- refreshers and frappuccinos are mediocre at best.

- mocha sauce smells SO GOOD and i have no idea how people say it’s gross. i wish it tasted as good as it smells

- brown sugar syrup and toffee nut are the only syrups that matter 🫶

I enjoyed the Chicken Maple

I don’t like mocha, white mocha, caramel, hazelnut, toffee nut, pumpkin, apple brown sugar… I also hate the taste of all the coffee. Iced coffee, latte’s, cold brew, and brewed coffees. I dislike all Frappuccino’s except for the vanilla bean, I don’t like any of the refreshers, except the strawberry açaí lemonade. I don’t like our teas, iced nor hot. I also hate matcha with a dying passion… oh I don’t like chai’s.

I have an autoimmune condition. I cant eat literally anything. For drinks its the same deal even though I do drink cold brew and the occasional shaken espresso with almond milk. The quality of product is straight cheeks here my guy

the Iced London Fog Tea Latte is the best drink on the entire menu but nobody knows how to make iced tea lattes properly so i can never order it unless i’m working

Matcha , I get so nauseous when I make one . I can’t take it when matcha powder gets in my nose I just want to violently throw a blender at someone. As much a I love everything bagels they tend to have a harsh chemical smell and Lingering alcoholic taste .

All Starbucks food lacks flavor.

95% of our standard espresso drinks are way too sweet and all of the syrups except for the vanilla are pretty gross. brown sugar and cinnamon dolce are good but too sweet with standard amount of pumps. our chai is radioactive and gives me hives when it touches my skin. DBS Bacon sandwich is HORRENDOUS like actually repulsive and inedible. our whip cream genuinely just taste like milk and needs more vanilla. And many many other things.

Blonde shots could not be more overrated. They’re so sour and nasty. It could be my own bias cause I don’t like bright coffee at all but they’re still absolute poopy buns

Hazelnut syrup tastes like bath and body works Christmas candles (I never drank candle wax in my life but the hazel syrup made me think I did when I first tried it).

they got rid of spicy chorizo right ?? it’s been a minute since i worked there but i Do remember every single Other sandwich being awful, the protein boxes aside from the pbj box are AWFUL worst offenders being the egg box bc i never once have seen one where the egg wasnt grey ?? starbucks espresso tastes like burnt ass excluding blonde roast and i feel blessed to have access to good quality beans where i’m at now 😔🙏

if im making anything w matcha it has to be overcompensated with heavy amounts of white mocha or cold foam. the chai lattes hot or iced aren’t good unless it’s a few pumps of chai in a shaken espresso (my personal fav), most of the time vsccf makes drinks taste rancid, the chocolate malt powder smells like poop in the shaken espresso and cold foam, cheese danishes are mid, pumpkin is the superior loaf, i actually enjoy the impossible sandwich and spinach feta the most out of all the savory options, any refresher with coconut milk is gross, hazelnut/vanilla/caramel syrup are not good, pumpkin cold foam is superior to the actual psl, toasted vanilla tastes like crap, peppermint is actually really good if it’s only a pump or two especially in iced espresso drinks or an iced matcha, and lastly iced peach green tea lemonade will never disappoint me.

Back before we got new ovens at my location, ham and Swiss croissants were super tedious to warm up because they would ALWAYS be cold in the middle. We’d have to double toast them pretty much all the time. Even ordering them at other stores were a coin-flip. Luckily, the new ovens cook them all the way.

LEMON LOAVES ,however, will forever be the bane of my existence. Most of the times they are way too soft and break apart before you can even throw them in the bag. Imagine all the wasted money as a result of having too toss endless amount of crumbled lemon loaf. Furthermore, the frosting taste waxy and the bread is far too sweet. Bleh.

Sriracha was the worst choice of hot sauces for them to make. It doesn't go well with the flavors of any of thier other food items

All the breakfast sandwiches need to be slathered with hot sauce. Only three good lunch sandwiches. Mocha and white mocha are garbage. Most of the syrups suck. The only quality thing we sell is espresso. The espresso is pretty clean and smooth.

Starbucks coffee is overrated and too expensive

For a company that prides itself on picking the best coffee beans and great quality, they sure have terrible drip coffee and espresso. There is no reason when grinding your beans (for drip coffee or cold brew) it smells like cigarette butts…

Also caramel and raspberry syrup smells and tastes like acetone.

The food is completely FLAVORLESS! I can taste my coffee and the refreshers fine but the food itself is so bland not even two packets of siracha sauce can save it.

The chai is too sweet. I would ideally get that as my drink when I'm tired of coffee.. Also - raspberry syrup is nasty. Maybe like 1 or 2 pumps is fine for extra flavor. But when someone gets a refresher with lemonade - already a SUPER sweet drink and then add full pumps of raspberry.. I can't even imagine drinking that.

after working there a while, EVERYTHING tastes like that old milky smell if that makes sense. also some pet peeves i have for absolutely no reason about orders (like they shouldnt annoy me but they do?)

-refreshers with vsc
-iced espresso with lots of customization
-multiple milks
-nondairy milk + vsc (and im a culprit of this as well)
-when they want the pastry in the package
these are all reasonable requests but they irk me for no reason

Food: anything Starbucks “made” is mid at best and about 95% of it is straight up trash

Drinks: Other then hot coffee everything is nasty and pumped df up of chemicals or sugar get matcha thrown into a black hole because it needs to die and then kill the corpse again I HATE it, then the way that u are supposed to make an ice matcha is just fucking stupid it works better in a cold foam blender if anything, then there’s the black coffee espresso itself it’s mids and brew coffee is alright but only if it’s fresh… overall they keep stopping producing on anything that is remotely good and replace it with a piece of trash they found at the bottom of the comunal dump

Our matcha is horrible it tastes so fake and just the smell of the caramel syrup/drizzle has made me despise caramel. Also spinach feta/ egg whites are ten times better if cooked on 2

I don’t mind making any of them it’s my job but they do be annoying when it’s busy

The only good cake pops are chocolate, earth day, and cookies and cream. The rest taste like straight grease.
