Pourovers in DT (self.starbucksbaristas)

"Can I get a venti Veranda pourover"

In the Drive thru at peak. SM tells him to pull around while we get that finished. He left and we made the pourover for nothing. Gotta love life in the green apron

did he think it was going to pour over faster if he orders it at a drive thru?
idleghost23 [OP] 3 points 10m ago
Probably 😭 it still took a while and we had to throw the cup out too

Do you guys not serve blonde during peak?

ive been told that even if we have drip brewed, if the customer asks specifically for a pourover we have to do it as a pourover. you can offer them drip but if they say they want a pourover you gotta do it the way they want
purseEffphony 5 points 10m ago
Which is why I with SB would get rid of the option entirely.

people who order pourovers/iced brewed tea drinks and then get pissy it takes so long are the worst god

Pour over = more labor hours . Just saying

I always hit em with a polite “that’ll take around 5 to 10 minutes, but I can get you such and such now!” They usually go for it most days but I never work peak so it’s just a slight inconvenience for me really. Still annoying though.

I've tried that with other pourovers it does work but this man wanted it right when he ordered it I told him I can give him a brewed pike he said no and left 🤷‍♀️

Id just give him a pike.

I don't think customers understand how long pour overs take. I wish Starbucks would take them off of the menu because in a dtrive thru or busy store it takes up too much time and customers get annoyed even when at the outset I explain it will be a few minutes.

One thing we do is try to convince the customer to get an Americano its faster and only a few pennies more than a pour over and dosen't mess up our Drive Thru times
