i get discriminated at work, for no reason. (self.starbucksbaristas)

i've worked at different starbucks' around for almost a year now, and 6 months ago i got hired at a drive-through store.
i didn't have a problem when i got hired, but when i started working, i noticed i was left out a lot. people didn't talk to me, and it wasn't because i was more introverted-- they just gave me dirty looks.
prior before working, i told both my managers i needed to work 15-20 hours, minimum. they said it was easy especially because of my schedule, and for the 6 months i've been working there, the maximum i ever got was 15. now, this week i wasn't even put on the schedule. next week, i have 3 hours. what the hell?
fast forward, after asking my manager multitudes of times to change this, i finally meet with one of them today to discuss my schedule and the way i have been feeling at work. and you wont BELIEVE what happened:
i got a warning sheet.
they LITERALLY wrote me up because "2 supervisors and the other managers have noticed you do jit engage at work."
you HAVE to be joking.
these two supervisors have hated me since the day i started working, and i didn't do a singular thing to provoke them either. i simply work, do my part and go home.
and now i got written up for asking to fix my schedule.
it came to a point where i have to drive 30 minutes away to take shifts at different starbucks to make sure i even earn enough money weekly. all of this happpened for no reason, and it's ONLY me.
even the new hires have 20 hours and im left with 0.
the funniest part is: everyone thinks i don't care or don't notice, but one of my coworkers (that i also knew from school) moved away and had her last day. she made EVERYONE new colorful name tags as a goodbye, and i didn't get one. it was only last week after working here 6 months did i found out everyone has a groupchat to hang out and i have not even been mentioned.

Leave , report to the dm / any Starbucks resource I’m so upset you have to even go through this 😡! I totally can’t stand atmospheres like this , your manager and coworkers are extremely childish even the one who left . And it’s an abuse of power

thank you so much, it means a lot to me! i've also taken shifts at 3 different starbucks and all of them love me and i've made friends there, so i know it's not because i am rude or i am a lack of work!

I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with such a toxic and inconsiderate team, some people just thrive on excluding others to make themselves feel better than. Stick with that group of friends you made at the other store, if you want to stay with the siren try getting in contact with that store manager and transfer. Honestly though you might have to go past just your SM due to the fact that they gave you a write up. Alot of times write ups can prevent you from transferring I would talk to your DM explain the situation and explain how you’re feeling maybe that can help. But I really recommend you get out of there this whole situation can’t be good for your mental state I’m so sorry you’re going through this :/ I’m thinking of moving states and I’m so scared of this happening to me cause I love the store I’m currently at but California is way too expensive. Keep your head up and slay! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Some people are just like that for no reason; I def experienced it myself. U said u knew that girl from school, did she bad mouth u to the coworkers in any way? Maybe that’s why? That’s messed up to be alienated. Sm also can’t write u up for something like asking for more hrs if u don’t call out etc or just in general. Also a verbal is needed first before a written. Is this ur first one? Can u speak to a dm? Hopefully the dm is not the sms friend (most dm would side with a sm) Can u ask for a transfer? Chances are they might try to write u up as much as possible if u try to transfer because that happened to me years ago and I ultimately got fired. (Gave me less than 10 hrs, did clopens and was late for shifts due to lack of sleep). The sm who fired me was not able to red flag me because I kept reporting her to partner resources (u also might or might not wanna report because then they definitely will get on ur case and try to get rid of u. They’re not a union, and will not be in ur favor since u are only a barista, that’s replaceable. Anyway that dm at that time sided with her. Soon after she got fired herself from her antics, which is a slap in the dms face if I must add. I came back years later but it took me a while, 5 months. If u chose to quit, u lose ur process of tenure and they might red flagged u for no reason (happened to someone—that sm said she was hard to work with) which is hard for u to get a job at Starbuck again. When u quit, u can apply after 6 months. Also sometimes when u quit and even put in two weeks, they still can play games and mark u as fired that u did no call no show after the two weeks.
This is the reality. If u are getting zero hrs and new hires are getting 20, they are trying to get rid of u.

that's what i thoight already. i don't know if my colleague from school badmouthed me, but i do know to one of my other colleagues, she referred to me as "slow" and doesn't like working with me, so it's always a possibility.
i have only ever called out once because i genuinely couldn't show up, but i don't think that is a complete reason to write me up. maybe they are trying to get rid of me, but i'm already in the move to transfer to another store close by. the manager and i are already in contact and i just hope the transfer could happen soon.

Speed comes with time, they shouldn’t say any of that. U come to work and try ur best. Again, U can’t get written without a verbal. So if they didn’t sit u down and said u have a time and attendance issue, they can’t write u up for that. Glad u are transferring. If u worked shifts there and they like u, it seems to be ur store’s problem. I hope u transfer without any issue. Chances are ur current sm might say something bad about u to mess up ur chances but if not then it’s good. That’s definitely happened to me. In the end that sm that was gonna take me just end up not taking me because it was taking too long. I don’t think that sm of mine process anything and just tried to get rid of me. When she got fired the whole company’s sms in my city knows and apparently they talk about her. She left the city. She done something like this to a few before me and when I got fired she probably did this to a few more which led to her termination. The people there kept saying she’s the spawn of satan lol.

This is horrible behaviour!! Sounds like “creative dismissal” to me, in which they make your time there so miserable that you leave, and they don’t need to fire you and allow you unemployment benefits etc. If you are able to go to the other store that would probably be the best solution for you. Of course they will say things like “see, I knew they couldn’t cut it” or “they couldn’t handle it” etc. to make themselves seem better. They are a bunch of bullies and you don’t need that.

I have experienced this in general and it really hits close to home! I have sort of accepted the fact that it is part of my being introverted. I have found out that some people see being shy as being "stuck up", or "stand-offish", even though it's far from the truth. I've found that "Fake it till you make it" sometimes helps, and we get to practice being social.

It saddens me that this clique behavior is still around. Like others mentioned , report it to your district manager and Human Resources. This is no longer primary school , this is a workplace and these baristas and sm need to start acting like it.
Get all the names , screenshot the group chat and even cc your manager in the email when you reach out to your dm.
Let them know that this stops with you and if they can’t comply , demand for a transfer.

Also if you do report it: don’t feel bad if anyone approaches you about it , even the ones who claimed “I barely did anything”. That’s garbage , if they are part of the group chat and part of that group; it’s all of them.
If they don’t like being singled out, then they shouldn’t be participating in doing the same thing in the first place.
