they want a triple tall w extra pumps without paying for the extra shots
junjoonie [OP]43 points10m ago
would you know off the top of your head how much they’ve saving? i feel with delivery’s price it would be a waste regardless
brokenleftjoycon43 points10m ago
There isn’t a price difference on the Starbucks app, but there could be a difference on UberEats because they will charge for each individual pumps of syrup, not just by how many different syrups you include.
junjoonie [OP]37 points10m ago
had free time so i checked, and it is a $3.65 difference so yeah it checks out
DasTeufelkind867 points10m ago
I've always thought that was so dumb. I priced it at reg to see what my husband's drink would be, then priced it on the app and because he likes a lot of pumps of Sweetener, it came up to like 20 bucks including delivery fee.

😲

i think in store there might be a difference tho bc i see that the app adjusts prices for shots so it doesn’t go over the price of a venti but idk if the register does that or not, so that might be how they order it in store normally for price reasons & didn’t realize it wouldn’t need to transfer over the same digitally

Too bad.

Make the drink in a tall cup, then place that drink+cup, inside of a venti cup
jeonzelink14 points10m ago
this is the way
mewwissa18 points10m ago
In my experience, this usually just means they want it in a venti cup. They just think “tall” means “large.” Just ignorant being ignorant.
mama_bibi16 points10m ago
I literally cross off the "in a ...." when it's a smaller cup. Like take a marker and cross it off and circle what size cup it's in at the top. Even for mobiles. I don't care anymore. It's been 5 years stop pushing buttons and pushing my buttons

also any other baristas here work in Austin tx? it was so incredibly slammed this weekend with nonstop orders
Texasgirl19024 points10m ago
I work in a tarbucks north of Austin and it was insane this weekend, our line was wrapped around the store and people were super rude too. I spilled a liter of black tea directly down my apron/shirt and someone was mad that I said “shit” as the pitcher fell on me 🙄 and then another guy who watched it all happen, knew I was making drinks while soaking wet while my coworkers helped me clean up the counters and floor, was tapping his foot and acting all pissy that I put whip cream on his frap 😩 sorry man I got bigger fish right now
Texasgirl19010 points10m ago
Sorry that rant just came out, but I wonder if it’s like a back to school rush somehow? Or maybe the rainy weather means more people coming out
IdLikeToBuyA-Vowel6 points10m ago
I say rainy weather, people always want that coffee and rain vibe but refuse to make their own coffee and then get pissed off when we can’t make it as fast as their basic keurig
junjoonie [OP]10 points10m ago
i remember a guy complaining to us that he could make coffee faster than the pour over we were making from him… when he clearly could see how busy lobby and drive through was, it’s just like- why can’t you then make your own?!
IdLikeToBuyA-Vowel4 points10m ago
Only my manager and one shift manager ever got on us for not whipping out the pour over, otherwise, nobody ever used it because of that exact reason. You want Starbucks specific flavor? Buy the damn beans then
junjoonie [OP]4 points10m ago
no worries! alongside the other two closers, i was so angry with how the shift went + how bad of a handoff we were given. we didn’t get out until 11 when we closed at 9 :( I’m a little south of central austin, in between the two major in universities essentially, which move in and classes beginning must have surely added to the rush. Austin’s pride parade also was this Saturday so I would assume some people came into town for that and it added to the business- overall i’m so exhausted from this weekend ahah
DasTeufelkind861 points10m ago
Oh god, you said "in between universities" and I had flashbacks to my first store, the one at the end of Greek Row at USC. There were also a charter school, high school AND middle school within walking distance, but until right before I left that store, we were the only DT store. Then they made a new one legitimately 2 blocks down on the other side of the street because we couldn't handle the cars wrapped around our building constantly.
rlogranite1 points10m ago
No worries, you can rant anytime. I feel your pain
sanavrse2 points10m ago
yes omfg i work(ed) at the now closed location downtown for this weekends pride and it was insanity
capsule_of_anxiety18 points10m ago
Imma just ignore that dumb “in a tall cup” line I didn’t see there no way is that fitting lol
Hazel_is_Trans5 points10m ago
2 tall lattee with vanilla sweet cream and I'm guessing Carmel in the foam
RudeEstimate22452 points10m ago
I- in a tall cup 🤦🏻♀️
Necessary_Low9392 points10m ago
I don’t play their games. I just give them a venti cup
nathanwp071 points10m ago
I think the customer was maybe trying to remember the name of the extra large and was like "Tall?, Yeah the cup us very tall" and clicked that🤣
