Does being scheduled non coverage do anything? My manager keeps going back to days I’ve already worked and changing them from keyholder to NC (self.starbucksbaristas)

NC doesn't count towards labour hours, so it's a way to "hack" the system so they don't go over on their hours for the week

sometimes they’ll do this if you’re working on the order, putting away the truck, disruptive non coverage tasks, etc. if you didn’t do any of the following, they’re just trying to not go over on labor.

There’s “budgets” for training, non-coverage and coverage for each quarter.

Mine does the same for me if my shift has to take to longer than scheduled or sometimes for clean play. I believe it’s just leftover labor hours that can be used or something like that. I’m still trying to figure it out as a shift lmao.

I just asked my wife and her manager does the same thing. She doesn't know why either.
