So this is how it went.
Customer: I want a tall mocha decaf nonfat dry no whip.
Me: okay great tall mocha decaf nonfat dry no whip.
Also me who makes said drink.
Customer: throws lid off and proceeds to say with disgust “what is this, this is all wrong what is this foamy stuff?”
Me: ………. I simply repeat what she ordered
Customer: Well over at Target they said thats how I should order it. Obviously you don’t know what your doing. I shoulda went there.
Me: I’m so sorry can you please describe what is wrong so I can fix it. Makes her a regular tall decaf nonfat mocha no whip……
Customer: paces cafe shaking head furiously.
Me: here ya go, is this right?
Customer: Yes I don’t know what you made before but this is right.
Me: Okay so from what I can gather, you do not want your beverage dry? You want to ask for just a regular one. When you ask for dry it will be more foamy like the last one.
Customer: Thats not what they told me at Tarbucks…They said thats how I order and they have never messed up.
Im tired…. Im overworked and live paycheck to paycheck. Why come be horrible to a complete stranger who’s been nothing but nice to you. She acted like I did it on purpose just to make her mad. I just wanna go home and cry now.

I think she got embarrassed because she knows shes just mis-remembering what they told her at tarbucks or shes embarrassed because she knows that she's just using a random word that she heard before that's associated with Starbucks drinks. So what people do when they get embarrassed is that they start to become irate and angry because they're trying to deflect your attention away from their mistake when it's okay to make mistakes but they don't have to be an asshat about it. I don't know why there are certain customers out there that when they make a mistake or misunderstand something and the drink turns out wrong because of it, they always get mad at us because they start to become embarrassed and they don't want you to think about their mistake so they try to divert your attention away from that and they would much rather act like a dick and have you be intimidated or scared rather than think about the mistake
