Listen to the shift. If they say “ring”, don’t go to bar and start making drinks because you’re not doing anything or ect. Wait for someone to ask you something in reference to another role (or ask a shift “hey do you mind if I face up retail or RTD/E?” Before wandering off.) also LISTEN! I have SO many baristas that do not listen when information is given. Let your shift explain something before immediately cutting them off with an “I know!” I had this happen today and it was really frustrating because the barista came to me about a question and I was in the middle of explaining something before they cut me off and rolled their eyes. Don’t be rude or stuck up either. ^.^

Thank you,lol I have experience working fastfood and I’ve def been in your shoes,I’ve trained over 20 people at my old place, and I can say that stuck up shit people do sucks.Definitely gonna be listening to directions so I don’t mess up!Lmao

Not only that, but I don’t know how many (younger) green beans have explicitly gone against what I’ve asked, such as staying in register and instead going to cold bar when they’re not supposed to (and end up making drinks incorrectly and then me having to remake the drink AND appease the customer (which further slows me down…)

;p hehe, it’s extra affectionate to those nostrils ❤️ enjoy your time with the BUX. It’s a rollercoaster, but worth it! If you don’t already have a degree, look into ASU. It’s a great program.

This is more general job advice but really invest in a good pair of shoes with good support. You’ll be on your feet all shift and decent shoes will definitely help.

It's just coffee I promise 😭💔
Amaniacalloser [OP]3 points10m ago
I like this one cause yes we should not be trippin about coffee
iiiimagery3 points10m ago
I have cried one too many times over spilled coffee or customers mad abt their wrong order and now I'm just like.. ok and walk away and let my coworkers deal with it if I can't

Ask plenty of questions!! If you're working with good people they'll always prefer you ask and get the right answer rather than just guessing. If your store has beverage recipe cards find them, they'll be your new best friend (especially the charts they should have in the front)

When in doubt offer to change out sani water and bar sani, or just wipe things down. (I always keep an eye on my bar partners and try to dip in and wipe down bar when they are grabbing something, it goes a long way-a clean bar is the best and during a rush it can be tough to get a wipe down)

quit while you’re ahead this job is not worth the shit you’re going to inevitably end up dealing with
