I'm a partner that's been with the siren for almost a year and now I'm a trainer !
My trainee starts next week and I was wondering if anyone had any tips that weren't in the training modules? I appreciate it greatly!!

The new training program is fairly indepth actually. Each module they have lines up with a detailed explanation of what you do with your trainee/how you review with them, the questions to ask, the demonstrations to do.Your trainees training plan outlines on the iPad what resource you need to select as the trainer. The best thing to do which I'm sure you're actually 100% aware of is finding out what way they learn best. Enforce the the what, what, why method when coaching them when they're practicing. Make sure you compliment their success and if they seem more shy try to do something more fun and interactive if possible for customer connections, like offer tastings and ask people about their day with your trainee so that they can get more comfortable with others and interactions. Lastly, try to get to know them a little and see what they enjoy. If you cant find a common ground with them thats okay but if you know your team well then try to introduce them to people on the team they have some things in common with so they can cultivate some connections too and feel comfortable in the workplace.

I completely agree with this!!! Just trained a new barista under the new barista 30 program and there were so many coffee tastings and customer interactions and observations that REALLY helped the comfort of the trainee!

Yes, very different from our training! A lot more time to ease into it!

get to know their learning style and play to those strengths! if they’re visual, use the recipe cards more for pictures! if they’re kinesthetic, have them *try* to make drinks and correct the incorrect behaviour immediately so they can know what they’re doing right and wrong. if they’re audio learners then just make the drink yourself and talk them through it.

My biggest thing is show them how to use the iPads! Teach them how to find recipe cards, cleaning instructions, the beverage resource manual, etc!
