Hopefully you called the store and talked to the SM. If this is the first time this has happened chances are you will get a verbal warning, no write up. If you don’t call the store or talk to the SM then it will probably be a write up for a no call no show. Always call the store the moment you realize you are going to be late. Chances are they still might need you help even if your shift was over. And the biggest piece of this is that the shift on duty knows you aren’t laying in a ditch somewhere hurt or dead. We do worry about partners when they don’t show up for their shifts.

You 100% have to give them a call so it doesn’t look like you just decided to not show up for any other reason, 5am is a pretty early start so I guess ur SM can sympathise however try to get enough sleep the night before so you wake up on time.

I say give them a call because it better for ssv or sm to know your ok.... especially if your opening or near opening.... I had a fellow partner not show up and later they said they got into a car accident because of a drunk driver....

My first day as an SSV I got scheduled to open at my new store was on a Tuesday, I woke up that morning thinking it was Wednesday for about 5 minutes before the panic kicked in. Call your store, let them know you're on your way and that everything is alright. This should really be a verbal warning because if partners who were late the first time all got fired I know some stores that would not be staffed right now.

No I called and since I only had an hour left she just told me not to come in 😭

Still the important thing is that you let your store know that you were alright and nothing unfortunate happened to you. My question is did anyone call you to see what was going on? I always called my partners if I knew they were coming in but haven't shown up at their start time just to check on them.

What is a write up? Three stages to documented coaching: 1.) verbal warning 2.) write up 3.) final warning. After that is termination. If you get written up you just can’t do it again basically. Not the biggest deal. You probably won’t be written up though.
