question about standard… (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rubyboobydooo
so this woman came into our store and she gets a strawberry refresher, we’ve been out of the pieces for a minute and apparently one of my coworkers just gives her pineapple pieces for free. my other coworker charges her for them and the woman asks why bc the “other girl never charges her” and was very upset about the whole thing.

so what’s the standard for this? we’re supposed to be charging for things even if it’s a substitution, right? i’m not even sure myself.

inventory says you need to hit the button. If you hit “sub [product]” and a charge doesn’t appear, you’re good to go. If a charge appears, the charge will be added to the customer’s total, no questions. Store labor is hurt when additional charges are rung up improperly, and in more crucial instances like alternative milks, the pars will be off and your store might under order. Also, another store won’t do it this very special way for this customer and it causes a headache for everyone. Whoever is ringing up the drink properly is in the right here, which I’m pretty sure includes the charge.
