I just found out that prior to the pay increase, I (13yr partner) was making fifty cents less than 3yr-4yr partners.
Who knows how many months/years I’ve been significantly underpaid.

that’s absolutely insane. i’m sorry about that. 13 years and making less than someone who has been been there for not even half the time you’ve been working there .. outrageous

I don’t care if u get that guy to say whatever just pay us!!!! And get the mobile and credit card tipping going. Apparently we make so little because the only tipping option is cash in store
breeeeeeeeee32 points10m ago
Mobile tipping has been a thing.
Torirock104 points10m ago

Yes but it’s not too user friendly

I’m not denying that one of the motives behind this was to prevent unionizing, but wouldn’t raises have to be negotiated regardless? if you unionize before a pay raise, you’d have to wait for your union to negotiate your pay in order to get a raise?

That’s stuff doesn’t matter just yet, we voted yes but we haven’t started collective bargaining, which is the reason why so many partners from my store have been fired without a union representative
verdeuce4 points10m ago
Yeah wasn’t that the point of organizing?
MysticsWonTheFinals2 points10m ago
Until a union and employer have a collective bargaining agreement in place, employer-employee relations proceed “normally” and the employer can set whatever working conditions they want*. Now, it’s not illegal for a company to say “while we’re starting negotiations at union stores, we’ll just do what we were doing before, even while we proceed with this raise program at other stores”
It is, however, illegal to punish employees for unionizing. So if the employer says “I’m not giving you a raise *because* I want you to suffer for unionizing” or “I’m firing you because you unionized,” then it’s illegal
^(*as long it doesn’t violate other labor laws)

If the union doesn’t protest, which they haven’t, to new benefits being offered than the company should be giving those benefits to union stores

They cut our raises by 45 cents at my stores smh
