I don't know what to do yall and need some help. I'm a supervisor and yesterday I noticed one of the fridges wasn't normal temp and when I checked the plug it was half in. When I pulled the plug from the plastic I git electrocuted for like what felt like 5 seconds but was actually about 2 mins. I went to the hospital in an ambulance after another supervisor came in and now I feel like I'm being pressured into going back into work. Does anyone have any advice for this Canadian partner?

partner resources & ethics is your best friend!! go to your district manager first if at all possible

yes!!! ASAP!!! i’m not one to be like “DM! Now!” but this is def one of those situations where you need to be in contact with them like, yesterday. it sounds like an incident report wasn’t done, either.

Sorry I’m not gonna be any help but trying to understand, we’re you just sitting there touching electricity and sorta blacked out for 2 mins?

I didn't black out I think but when I went to temp my fridges it was 9:00 and after I got zapped it was 9:03 so I'm not sure if it was for the full 3 mins or not but it felt like only 5 seconds had past to my brain

when you get electrocuted , all the electricity flows from the contact point down thru you to where ever it exits. meaning it can go thru ur heart which basically restarts it which can also restart your brain too because they’re connected. Anyways i hope you file a workers comp and get paid for this ! I hope you feel better soon too 🥺

I don’t know what you have in Canada but if you were in the US I would tell you to report your injury through Sedgwick. I dealt with a work injury recently in the US and if my doctor said I can’t stand for long periods of time and I filed that paperwork with Sedgwick, that just was what it was and my manager had to cover me. Call partner resources—they can help direct you to where Canadian partners need to report. If you haven’t already, seek medical advice about what you are allowed to do or not do to support your recovery and get that in writing (I.e. cannot stand for longer then X time, cannot use right arm, whatever physical thing you cannot do). The way it worked in the US is that once that information is on file, a Starbucks risk management person decided whether I could still do my job within those limitations, and in my case they determined that if I can’t stand up for periods of time, I can’t do the ssv thing, so I was on leave for 2 weeks.
Best of luck comrade

I’m not sure what province you are in, but every one has a workplace safety and insurance board. In Ontario it’s called WSIB and you’re employer is required to file a report with them. You may also be entitled to compensation for your time off work, and they will pay you the difference between what you normally make and what you end up making on modified work. You must make sure they have filed a report and if not you should ensure they do…
Ontario: https://www.wsib.ca/en
Here is the list of organizations in each province:

Please also go to your Doctor before considering returning to work. The WSIB will require a Doctors exam and note.
