it’s technically also against policy but if you’re SM is cool with it then go for it! i’ve gone to stores where partners had it on their apron (:

the people at my store, myself included, always put them around the apron strap. there used to be a SSV that put it around her ankle. as long as it isn’t on your wrist you’re good!
