i have seen a lot of people online bashing baristas for making minor complaints abt having to make frappes or other tasks, i get that it’s our job but i feel like everyone complains abt certain tasks their job requires, and these people online act like we’re supposed to be overly enthusiastic abt every aspect of the job (they themselves definitely don’t apply this mindset to their own job). idk, i don’t even rly mind making frappes but just the way ppl talk abt it on twitter/tik tok annoys me

Everyone likes to vent a bit about their job. Despite what you may think, baristas have an emotional range beyond the fake cheery disposition we usually fake to keep you from possibly complaining and losing our primary source of income. We are nice to you because we get paid to be nice to you.
Now take your yummy yummy and STFU, why are you even following baristas on social media anyway?

It comes from my mom and my nephew. When he was a toddler my mom would call his food “yummy yummy.”

Heeeeeeeey my cheery disposition is genuine 😭 but I do admit even I have a limit lol it’s because I’m just a naturally happy all over the place person and it can be very overstimulating after 5-6 hours without stopping besides for my 10 lol
