Are these earrings in dress code ? At my last store a shift told me to take them out bc they weren’t, but my SM never told me to, and someone else told me they were allowed. So idk.(i.redd.it)

As far as I know the dress code says as long as the jewelry isn’t oppressive or offensive to anyone then it should be fine
peepeepoopaccount [OP]97 points10m ago
I heard it’s supposed to just be smaller than a quarter but the shift told me they couldn’t dangle (even tho they barely dangle) but I think she just likes to dress code people
PoppyPancakes109 points10m ago
Is your shift an old partner? I think in the Look Book we couldn’t wear dangly earrings but when that got revamped to the new dress code they took it out. Now jewelry just has to be smaller than a quarter I believe
peepeepoopaccount [OP]47 points10m ago
I think so yeah. She was in her 40’s and I think said shed been working there for a while
CalDoesMaths32 points10m ago
You can pull up the updated dress code on the iPad if anyone bothers you. Those should be fine
iSpeakMeme9 points10m ago
Maybe I only think this because I have plugs but I always assumed the stretched jewelry had to be smaller than an inch but we still couldn't wear dangly earrings. I may be wrong but that's what I thought was the case.
Viapache51 points10m ago
I just went through training so it’s fresh.
1 facial piercing no bigger than a dime
Earrings and ear gauges no larger than one quarter
Only other reference to jewelers is no bracelets/rings (except a plain wedding band).
If your dangle earring is bigger than a quarter they might have a leg to stand on. But idk if they would push it
awesomechief98912 points10m ago
I don’t think they’re wrong but usually no one cares? I knew a shift who had 17 piercings , lips, nose, face, ears etc 😂
NOTcreative-9 points10m ago
The only thing that would be relevant is when they allowed nose piercings it was smaller than a dime.
gymnamind2 points10m ago
Nothing is on the dress code about dangling earrings but it does say no bigger than a quarter so I would avoid wearing dangles longer than like an inch
Danielitics041 points10m ago
Bruh I've had dangly earrings in since I've started. LMAO I have a whole axe hanging from my ear. Ppl be wack and weird and really be trying to make sbux workers boring asf
lilkiosk1 points10m ago
You’re right it is a quarter I think. I wear hoops daily and never got told to take them off once.
Edit to say I used to break the facial piercing rule because I had a septum and nostril, but I took the septum out for comfort reasons (wrong sized jewelry when it got pierced) and I always break the ring rule - I have two plain bands on my right hand I never take off, and I never take off my engagement or wedding band sooo I’m bad, maybe don’t listen to me
a-viewer75 points10m ago
What the others said. Just smaller than a quarter. Nothing about them being dangly or not. Honestly sbux dress code sucks bad. You go to any other mainstream coffee shop and people are wearing crop tops and tank tops and short shorts.

Im just happy my new store doesnt say anything about us wearing light denim jeans cause thats my favorite color of jeans. Old store was strict about that. But yeah the dress code is so specific i dont see why it matters as long as we’re dressed appropriately and maybe having our shirts be a color scheme, but i dont see why jeans matter.
mrzygb13 points10m ago
i believe so, also super cute
peepeepoopaccount [OP]10 points10m ago
Thanks! Its rose quartz ❤️
frenchsilkywilky12 points10m ago
i’ve heard the anti-dangly rumor is because they don’t have backs, so i save those little plastic tubes that come when you buy them and use those to be safe. i’ve worn much crazier and longer earrings to work with many compliments, go nuts
lily-amber11 points10m ago
I’ve been told dangly earrings are not dress code but so many girls at my store do it anyway. Even my manager wears some pretty big hoops sometimes. Those look fine to me, and they’re super cute.
graylikesoap7 points10m ago
i was told as long as it’s not bigger than a quarter or offensive it’s fine
barrrristaaa7 points10m ago
the smaller than the quarter has to do with stretched ears i believe
accountedthrowaway56 points10m ago
yeah they’re allowed
peepeepoopaccount [OP]10 points10m ago
Ok good im wearing them today
haydensidun5 points10m ago
I would say no just because of the possibility that it breaks and falls into a drink, but I’m not sure. Maybe ask your DM?
EyesOpenedWide313 points10m ago
I have a partner who wears tiny macaroni and cheese boxes for earrings and let me tell you how much our customers love it. They have so many other ones that we always love to see what they will wear next. So yes those are perfect for work because if it makes you feel pretty and good then why can’t you wear them. They are very pretty btw :)
onapapersun2 points10m ago
That actually sounds super adorable. I would love a pair like that. A customer favorite for me are a pair of mini Van Gogh paintings that I got at an art fair. I also make my own earrings so it's always fun when a customer asks about them.
lolopie33333 points10m ago
whether anyone is gonna say anything is a different story but the starbucks dress code only allows studs and gauges smaller than a dime
lolopie33333 points10m ago
they're not it's studs only
RubySapphireSage3 points10m ago
I wear so much jewelry I’m not even sure I wear so much . But they also say that about most earrings in general but it’s never a complain either way .
Fearless_Bowler_87123 points10m ago
i fully wear my full hoops to work pretty much everyday all the earrings i own are pretty big or dangly so i think perhaps ur shift is just being a little butt
ass_eyes3 points10m ago
My manager wears some that look like that but damn near touch her shoulders I think you are good
ryzzostar3 points10m ago
I used to wear very large wooden dangle pick earrings and no one ever told me they were out of dress code. We got away with a lot of dress code violations at my store though. I miss not working there.
Aliciarox111893 points10m ago
Just for safety I would add those clear backers when you wear them so they are secure
knowitallbarista3 points10m ago
dangle earrings are a food safety issue but idk how long they would need to be before it's a problem. I wouldn't worry about those tbh
tangerine46x2 points10m ago
I had a girl at my store literally wear sharpies as her earrings and not get dress coded
KoreCow2 points10m ago
Dress code update comes out on Monday, so I'd just wait to use that as a reference.
marenhahn2 points10m ago
those are 100% not against the dress code wtfffff (also they’re so cute omg)
peepeepoopaccount [OP]1 points10m ago
Thank you <3
Prestigious-Spare-322 points10m ago
I believe you can we’re studs but not dangly earrings as they can fall into substances and such
Urmomscoochiehairs2 points10m ago
Yes I literally wear the most wack jewelry and if health ppl come I just take em off so we don’t get pointed but otherwise if it doesn’t effect your job earrings are up to you :)
Dramadivinebaddie2 points10m ago
In the old dress code no dangling were allowed but now i think its like no more than one dangling on each ear is fine. And it just has to be small. You’re good, shes hella tripping, just show her the dress code paper thing and she will stop.

in Singapore Starbucks we arent allowed to wear earrings at all only studs this is based off the Singapore Food Association (SFA) and the rule applies for all food and beverage employees serving and making drinks in Singapore
Ok_Investigator43141 points10m ago
the day I get dress coded for EARRINGS is the day I quit
onapapersun1 points10m ago
I usually wear dangly earrings to work all the time. I have an extensive collection of earrings and not once have I been told not to wear certain pair of earrings, even from the most stickler of SSVs. Those are pretty tame actually.
RutabagaSoft19731 points10m ago
just say “write me up” and then show your sm your ear rings since the shift wants to be a butt
Smallfemdom1 points10m ago
This is just a power trip 😭 I’m sure in the fine print terms and conditions it says not to lmao

Smaller than a quarter
Nraveles110 points10m ago
Honestly I don’t even think most people care bout jewelry but this is def in code.
bryghtenn0 points10m ago
i’ve definitely worn earrings that dangle and have been fine. i’d say so. as long as they’re not anything HUGE or offensive.
crapricorn-010 points10m ago
I’ve had a shift w earrings that dangle, I think you should be fine, I’ve seen people w wear hoops or bigger ones
