Hey fellow baristas. I want to get myself a small treat at a different Starbies because of IRL things happening. Another barista suggested trying blonde espresso shots for my iced white mocha with coconut milk. Would I be “that guy” for getting such an order?

No. The difference between espresso shots for a barista is simply pressing a different button before pulling the shot.

True lol. I’ve just seen some people talk about other baristas coming to their locations and getting a drink and saying how stupid it is or smth along those lines.

please get whatever you want. you shouldn’t have to feel bad for making a barista do their job. as long as you’re kind and polite I have no problem making a drink with a bunch of customizations. it’s actually kind of fun for me

You’d never be “That guy” for customizing the drink on how you want it! This drink doesnt compare to some orders who have like SIX plus customizations, Lol. You’re fine and theres nothing wrong with having the drink YOU’RE paying for how you like it!❤️

sometimes it's not even the ticket but the tone someone orders in. i have a regular who gets a trenta iced tea with syrup, no ice, no water, and is VERY adamant we shake it. i wouldnt even mind doing it if he didnt order it so condescendingly LOL

Upcharge 'em!
1. Go to Refund Mode.
2. Ring up their Grande inside of Refund mode
3. Exit Refund Mode
4. Ring up the Venti
5. Be sure to put a "Don't Make" modifier on the Venti! Otherwise, there may be duplicates.
6. Remake the drink
I usually only do this if they're rude though. If people are nice, give them a Trenta, who tf cares. 🤷

Most of us have our own complex orders that we love, and get from time to time. Being "that person" means that you're getting 4+ modified drinks (not like extra of something already inside of it kind of modified), being rude, or a combination of both in my opinion.

considering the drinks i get asked to make regularly if someone complains about a blonde white mocha with an alt milk??? i would laugh at them. u enjoy ur drink do not worry. i just want to make sure you do know the white mocha is mostly condensed milk if youre opting for coconut because you cant have dairy. but if you can have dairy and just like coconut milk feel free to disregard hahaha !

All my coworkers suggest blonde and all drink blonde. It would be fine but we ha e the old machines and only have 1 bar that does blonde. And a new blonde drink coming out too😭. Makes mornings chaotic i hope we get our new machines because then i wouldnt mind at all

It’s really the sbux baristas that work in like targets and grocery stores who complain about simple modifications like that , cuz they don’t know what it’s like to work at an actual busy store
