I understand that as a partner we have to always make the moment right however i absolutely despise having to make a whole order when a customer sent it to the wrong store. ESPECIALLY during peak. i just wonder how much money and product starbucks has lost from doing this, and why do we continue this? why not just say “oops looks like it’s sent to the store down the road… 🧍🏻♀️ anyways you have a safe drive over there”

Someone accidentally ordered from the Krobucks across the street the other day and my shift still made us remake it. Seemed wrong to me because the money doesn’t go to the same place in that situation right?? Not that I care about these corporations lmao but still
orsonvulture15 points10m ago
you're right, it definitely is still wrong and annoying to do because we aren't getting labor for it despite making it. money spent is labor hours earned but in situations like this the store and partners lose out entirely cuz it's product and labor hours. starbucks should really do something about it but you know, human connections and all that teehee
Swan9713 points10m ago
At our store we were told to rering it in as a right now recovery so that product and labor was counted for. But I don't know for sure if it actually counted labor
RyusuiJL7 points10m ago
This. Labor hours are based on orders per half, not income. Which is why even when people come up for 3 Venti waters, you should be ringing it in.
Binx_da_gay_cat6 points10m ago
We have them tell us what it is, show us the receipt, and then we right now recovery it. When it goes through the drive thru or front POS system, it's a transaction. It should account labor, since labor is based upon transactions (according to my SM).

I generally just tell them they ordered at the wrong store, and ONLY if they ask me to remake it then I will. I’m not responsible for their mistakes, I’m not gonna offer extra work when we’re already slammed 💀💀💀. You give customers an inch they’ll try to take a mile, best not to give them an inch.
No-Analysis-181314 points10m ago
If it’s during peak I tell them it’ll be ready for them at the other location and I don’t offer a remake, however if they specifically ask for a remake I tell them they have to come inside and wait but that we’re busy so it’ll be a bit of a wait

Someone ordered two grande drinks on the mobile app today. And then when they came they said “oh I ordered a Venti”. like.. no you didn’t? the app literally lets u choose the size, that’s YOUR error if you wanted a Venti instead. I remade it anyway but jeez, so annoying

Lol that reminds me. Yesterday i had a similar situation. There was a woman who ordered thru uber eats from our store. She got 3 drinks and 4 food items. For the drinks, she ordered a venti hot white mocha with mocha drizzle. A venti iced caramel macchiato 4 shots. And grande caramel frappuccino.
Lolol so she calls the store and is speaking to my shift supervisor. She said she ordered 2 venti iced white mochas as part of her few drinks and my manager pulled up her order on the POS and told the lady that she didnt order 2 of those and read back to her what she did order and for her to contact uber eats. I heard my shift saying to her "yes we make mistakes but this one wasnt our fault because we just make the orders we receive. U would have to call uber eats" ...by my shift supervisor saying that, it makes me think the lady was asking to get 2 venti iced white mochas for free which she said is what she ordered even tho she didnt. The one white mocha drink she did order was a hot one with mocha drizzle.
Like stop lying lmao why are people always trying to not pay for shit that they want? Then she ended up placing another uber eats order for the 2 venti iced white mochas. She was really trying to get 2 free drinks even tho what was in her original 3 drink order was totally different than what she said she ordered

I did that once. Only once. When they helped me figure it out, I apologized for taking their time and took my happy ass across town to the correct store. They offered to remake it, but I couldn't see the point. My mistake, my responsibility to correct it.
vanilllacakez5 points10m ago
It’s not that deep to me. Inconvenient yes but doesn’t happen regularly enough for me to be angry
5AV1OR3 points10m ago
At my store unless we hit them with “sorry you ordered it to the wrong store” and will only make it if they go out of there way to ask, it helps because the other 2 stores are only 5 min away and so most people will just go pick it up from the right store if we don’t offer to remake.
Bluebilledduck2 points10m ago
Not gonna lie, if its during peak, and we are understaffed, and you have any kind of an attitude? You can drive 0.2 miles down the road to the store you actually ordered from. Ive googled it, that's literally how far it is. I dont have time for your shenanigans, my shifts usually agree.
Lightheaded_gamer2 points10m ago
It really depends when I worked for Starbucks , an order that has one drink and one food? No problem it happens. But we are talking about 4+ drinks and food? Nah especially with the food shortage that was going on before I left.
wankmasterr_692 points10m ago
Nahh lmaoo I always tell them they have to pay and ask for a refund over there. Bc this is our stores sale not theirs. Regardless it's their choice. Go to the store that already has their drinks made or WAIT for us to remake them.
leeblissy2 points10m ago
we have two other starbuckses very very closeby, so usually if someone sends a mobile to the wrong store its one of those two. but since theyre both extremely close, we usually don't remake their order unless its less than 3 drinks, ESPECIALLY if its busy. sorry to hear that not yalls policy, cuz it works out extremely well for us at our store. have y'all talked to your store manager about this ever? (not saying u should cuz idk your manager, just curious!)
Necessary_Low9391 points10m ago
Trust me: They make well enough to do this, but they don’t pay us enough to do it for them. So most of the time I don’t like making the moment right and don’t do it for them.
oliveee_oil251 points10m ago
We had a customer do this and the total was $94. We told her that we can make them but that she’d have to pay and go to the other location and do a refund. It was too much money to right now recovery. She understood when $$$ was the reason why and had no issue going to the other store the next day.
ItsAWildFelix1 points10m ago
gosh. THIS. Someone said it
