realizing how lucky i was at my old store (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by embrell
i transferred to a new store here and everyone is very cliquey, and very fake. my old was really homely and welcoming, i didnt fucking dread going to work. i missed it there. ive only worked at this new store for around 3 weeks and ive dreaded almost every damn shift, but ive worked at starbucks for a year and two months at this point. tired as fuck and i have a 5:30-11pm shift tonight. i hate getting out at 11pm especially since i have 8ams tomorrow. wish me luck

Same. I transferred to a new store a couple months ago bc I thought my manager sucked… I learned quickly what an actual shit manager looks like. The grass isn’t always greener, long story short I’m transferring back to my old store lol.

i’m in the same boat rn but i’ve only been at the new store for a couple of week. do i need to be there for a minimum amount of months before being able to transfer?

When I contacted my old manager again she said something along the lines of “exceptions have been made” and I think when I was looking into it I saw a Reddit post that said you had to be at your new store a minimum of 6 months but I was only at my new store for a couple of months (April-now) and I started the process of transferring back a couple weeks ago so honestly if it’s something you decide would be the best move for you I would contact your old manager, see if they’d be willing to take you back, and once you get the go-ahead from them talk to your current manager about your intention of transferring back… that’s what I did anyway!

Edit: changed word months to weeks

Good luck!!! And I’m sorry you have to deal with this I feel like the most common issue I hear about on this subreddit is cliquey vibes at stores. It’s ridiculous to me because it shouldn’t be like this, I work with some of my best friends but when I’m at work I go out of my way to include everyone and ask people questions about themselves to make sure they don’t feel excluded

I’ve only worked at one store and always scared to transfer because of stuff like this :(

if you ever did transfer, id reccommend going to the store first and asking around if you can. i just accepted the first one who was willing to take me since i needed the job
