mobile customers can’t leave tips until we mark their order complete on the DPM (self.starbucksbaristas)

so, we just found out today that if we don’t mark mobiles as complete on the DPM, the customers can’t leave tips.
a lady ordered 18 drinks on the app and when she came in was saying how her app wouldn’t let her tip us. my SSV marked her order off on the DPM and she finally got the option to tip.
so basically, when we ignore the DPM when we’re slammed, we’re preventing our customers from tipping us.

i had never heard of it either. but the lady in the cafe couldn’t tip us until her order was marked as completed.

It would explain why being able to tip is so random in my app. Could never figure out the rhyme or reason to why it would or would not let me

it probably has an auto complete timer built in or something. like if it’s been an hour they probably make tipping available when the system decides it has been sufficient time, but if it’s less than that we might have to check off to speed up that process 🤷🏻♀️

We tried it too but I just looked up my receipts on the app and tipping was optional. Idk.

My store doesn’t use the DPM and I’ve been able to tip on the app the few times I’ve done a pick up. Hmm.

i can’t think of what the acronym means off the top of my head. but it’s an app on the starbucks ipads that allows us to see orders. it’s main purpose is to see mobile and cafe orders that we’ve received, are in progress, are at hand off, and have been picked up. we’re also able to push orders through to the front of the line if a mobile shows up in drive or for cafe customers.

Complete as in picked up from handoff or as in finished the drink and it’s at handoff?
