Sooooo, my manager is telling me that I can’t work a mid shift Saturday because he doesn’t have a closing supervisor for Saturdays. I told them I am not able to close on Saturday because of obligations for school (I am in college so I do have assigned Saturday evenings for a lab period for my major and now I might have to put it off because manager claims they’ve “stated in the interview that they need a Saturday closer.”). I don’t know what to do about this. I’ve tried making compromises, i’ll close 3 days and have that mid shift Saturday. They cannot accommodate to it. What do I do from here…? I don’t think the district manager is as available quickly. I’ve tried asking another SM that I’m close with on how I can go about this to see if I can go back to that store POSSIBLY if nothing is changed. This is just too much and I just want to have a successful school year while also working my job as a supervisor. Manager knows I am in school too! I’ve agreed to work Saturday, just cannot close. This is ridiculous.

You shouldn’t have to “live for work” as I like to say. You have your own life to worry about and if your manager isn’t willing to accommodate you it might be time to get another job 🤡

i would try to get someone to either switch or cover ur close thats already scheduled (could be from another store), and then update ur availability in partner hub if u havent already. if ur availability wasnt changed in partner hub, i really dont think theres much the dm can do.

it sucks but if ur manager isnt the type that will work with you, you might have to find a different store that will.
